Instructions for Running
Basic Programs to Generate
Character/symbol Flux Profiles
-
Install the GWBasic.exe
program in a directory labeled MICR, for example. Download from web site
http://www.geocities.com/KindlyRat/GWBASIC.html
-
Install all the flux
generating basic programs (13 of them) in the same directory. Note:
There are only 13 Basic programs for generating the data files for the
14 characters/symbols. The character seven did not lend itself to a
mathematical solution, so instead its corresponding data file was
developed by using a 10 times scale drawing and data points taken by
using a ruler and conversion factors. To run these basic programs, use
the command prompt, install the GWBASIC program, then load each basic
program one by one. You may edit the basic programs in line number 10 to
place the output file in whichever directory you wish. To provide
adequate resolution, the data samples are calculated at 30 samples per
0.013 inch.
-
The last file is the data
file for the character seven, which is called SEV_MIC.DAT. This file was
generated by hand.
-
Download and unzip from
link MICR_BASIC_PROGRAMS.zip
-
To finish the waveform
generation, you must use MathCad, a program available from MathSoft. See
the MathCad_MICR link for the listings which use the XXX_MIC.DAT files
to perform convolution and filtering per the ASC X9.27 Specification.
